Rhianna is portrayed as the Greek mythological creature Medusa on the latest cover of GQ. Creative directors seem to be on some other stuff sometimes when perpetuating the images of women of color. The visual is not that artistic to be considered “artistic expression” but then again art is relative.
I ain’t feelin it. Usually there is something beautiful to be found in most things but this just isn’t moving that spirit for ME…if you feel differently that is wonderful.
What other beautifully iconic character could Rhianna have portrayed that was artistic and eye catching? Hmmmm Queen Sheba, Catwoman, Any ancient Egyptian queen, the wife of Alexander the Great, hell Foxy Brown (circa Pamela Grier).
