It is well understood that there are show writers that provide what is thought to be entertaining script for hosts and co-hosts. Some of the comments, jokes and other verbal assaults were offensive. What’s even worse, there has been absolutely no correction from anyone! Where is the NAACP? Where is the Justice League?!?
If a person of color had made the jokes that Seth MacFarlane had made during the Oscars, there would have been emense fallout…guaranteed.
Maybe that is the reason there hasn’t been a black host since Chris Rock (2005) and Whoopi Goldberg (2001). But somehow, the creator of the hit show Family Guy has gotten off with a slap on the wrist though his insults splattered all over everyone in attendance. Quite frankly, his performance was terrible.
For the love of Almond Joys, The assistance of “Captain Kirk” was heavily needed. Needless to say the entire opening was poorly written. If it wasn’t written and improv stood instead then that’s even worse.
There were moments in MacFarlane’s sketches that actually caused uncomfortable pause. It was contemplated whether anyone actually cared for the safety of this man. What relevance did flying around in a nun’s habit that didn’t look anything like a typical habit, have on anything? Actually the habit looked more like a KKK outfit than that of a nun. Was that an inference? Was that a moment meant to implant some type of subliminal about the resurgence of the Grand Wizard?
WTH?…Yeah we saw you!!!
Is it more important to be just seen these days? The content of character and material seem to be less important to folks satified with temporary everything.
