Jamie Foxx put the smack down on this role! Despite the negative grumblings from Spike Lee– this movie was the best seen by this self professed movie enthusiast in more than a decade.
The love story that FINALLY has an African American hero coming to the rescue of his African American WIFE, is a story line that has been overlooked far too often in Hollywood! It is very sad that the world had to wait until 2012 to see a black man triumph over the chains that kept him from his beloved…but this movie was worth the wait.
Everything was excellent. The soundtrack, storyline, cinematography and overall production of this cinematic gift should go down in history as a feat of ingeniuity.
The spagetti western was in keeping with historical western movies. The cast of color added a top rate dimension to the classic style that was as soulful as a home cooked meal.
The heroine (played by Keri Washington), could have been a little more daring. However, in the very last scene of the movie Mrs. Django removed the rifle from the horses side holster. The single act created several different possibilities for the sequel. Let’s hope that Tarantino revisits this script like he did with his “KILL BILL” movies.
