Today I was in search of images of black men preferably fathers reading to their little ones. Needless to say the image repository used by so many, had absolutely no images of BLACK DADS READING.
There were plenty of images with Black men laying with White women, Black men with barely anything on, and black men drinking beverages (which in the context of the photo were most likely alcoholic). There were images of abused women at the hands of black men, and there were even images of men who had converted to women. Now this is why this site was created to expose blatant acts of societal brainwashing.
Images, songs and stories have all been and continue to be the largest shapers of perceptions. By the mere fact that the image repository in question did not and does not have an array of images that depict black men in a positive light, reflects the “buy in” to the notion that Black men ain’t sh*t.
THAT IS NOT TRUE. For every one jackass there are at least three brothers who have their heads on straight and contribute to the daily lives of their families. Unfortunately, since the introduction of black men to this country, the power has ensured that HE was belittled demeaned and made to feel like he was a non factor in the building process involved with creating a family. Now here we are damn near 200 years later and nothing has changed. Granted the inception of technology seems to sent the initiative in hyperdrive.
Whether people embrace hip hop culture or not, all American blacks in the mind of the naive among “other culture”, assume that all black folks particularly men are exactly as the images portray. Yet another lie that comfortably justifies treating other people in a manner that makes YOU feel superior when in actuality that complex is unwarranted on so many levels.
